Recently had the opportunity to do new headshots for actress Shana Coleman. Here’s a sampling of what we shot.
To really apprciate how pretty Shana is, you need to keep in mind that true actor headshots (like these) are not retouched to remove anything that is a permanent part of the person’s face (like the small scar on Shana’s forehead).
It’s important that an actor’s headshot show the real person. Anyone using headshots to pick talent (like directors, talent agents or photographers) wants to be able to look at a headshot and see the real deal. They want to see what the actor or actress really looks like, not how they look after a heavy dose of Photoshop.
And so, what you see here is the real Shana! It’s my job to make sure that I photograph the actor (or model) in a way that is most flattering to their face, and, to only retouch things like a blemish that may be there one day and gone the next.
In Shana’s case, my job couldn’t have been easier. She really does have great skin, a wonderful smile and beautiful eyes too!
Thanks Shana!
