8 Prep Tips for Better Actor Headshots

Creating great headshots for actors is a collaborative effort. While hiring a great headshot photographer is critical, there’s still lots you need to do to get the most from your headshot photo session. Here’s 8 great tips from UK based headshot photographer Michael Wharley.

I’ll add one more tip! With the dry climate we have here in Denver, we get used to dry lips. Unfortunately dry lips can really kill otherwise great headshots. To combat this, you should keep your lips protected 24×7 with either lipstick, ChapStick® or similar type lip protector. That includes before you go to sleep too! The good news is that even doing this for a few days will make a huge appearance in the suppleness of your lips!

Are you hearing this guys? That rugged jawline and scruffy beard may be great assets but cracked dry lips in your headshot are not!

I have had many years of headshot photos. I hate getting headshot photos. My experience with David Sutphin was positive and professional. There was laughter involved. The result was terrific. I’m very, very happy with this fine man and his fine product.
